Over the last decade HKIUD has arranged an annual award ceremony that provides the opportunity to gather and celebrate the achievements of the urban design community in Hong Kong. This 10th anniversary publication includes a selection of 10 of the awarded projects.
In 2019, HKIUD commenced publication of an open-access urban design journal entitled ‘Urbanie and Urbanus’. The journal is a communication tool to develop a dialogue between the institute members, related professions, decision makers and the local community.
Commencing with a focus on the city and community of Hong Kong, from this local perspective it reaches out to China, Asia and internationally. As part of this 10th anniversary publication, 6 articles have been included that highlight how new tools and methods can be used to assess and raise awareness to the pressing issues facing the contemporary urban environment and society.
